Good News

The antimitochondrial antibodies test came back negative, meaning it's highly unlikely I have primary biliary cirrhosis. I still have to get a biopsy but I think the liver issues came from NSAIDs and pain medicine at normal doses, plus the gallbladder issue. I look forward to feeling better soon. I need no further health issues!

I am very glad that you don't have cirrhosis, and though the biopsy will happen, you can look forward to feeling better and getting better.....to your normal sort of in pain disabled and frustrated in a world not made for accomodation self. Um, I mean, good luck and I will be wishing you well on the day.

That's very good news. No kidding you don't need to add anything else to your collection.

Do you get the biopsy at the same time as the gallbladder surgery or will you have to be awake for it? It would be nice if they could multi-task, you know?

Damn NSAIDS, they are tough on the body. I have to give my pharmacologist a big nudge and have her get that puffer fish extract past its final clinical trials. It's supposed to be amazing. Back in the day-to-day world though, here's to a very successful outcome for your surgery.

Thank you, Yanub.

Elizabeth, yeah, I look forward to being back to the old challenges rather than all the additional ones. Goodness, this past year has been quite a ride! But easier with the support of friends like you.

I get both the biopsy and the gallbladder removal done at exactly the same time--which is great since I thought I would have to do the biopsy a few weeks from now, awake. Multitasking in this regard is indeed great!

See you in a few days.

I'm so glad you finally got some good news.

I had my gallbladder removed just over 3 years ago. Every time I think about that surgery, I smile. Wide. :D The relief was so incredible! I'm hoping yours goes just like that.

Thanks, spotted elephant--all my heartburn has gone away, and while I feel a lot of bruising, I am already no longer nauseated after I eat. Yay!
