ADA: Coffee by Internet

Happy ADA 20th Anniversary!

Reminder: At 9:30 p.m. EST, or as close to it as you can, let's all have a coffee by internet (a special coffee or tea, wine, or raspberry lemonade, whatever your favorite drink)--in honor of the ADA and of those who fought for it, and in honor of ourselves in the struggle we face daily against attitudinal and physical barriers.

Hoping to catch up with my blogging soon!

Hi Frida,
I found your Blog through William Peace .... my husband became severely disabled from a car accident (two 18 yr. olds crossed the center line & hit him head on).... in the mid-80's (BEFORE the ADA).... He was brain-injured, broken hip, shattered knee, seizure disorder, blind in one eye, left side paralysis & right side effected... etc. etc...

Anyway... out of all of that... & wow did we fight for him (our daughter Merry Lynn & I) ... especially for bathrooms, even! (GO ADA!) ... so forward many years... many projects, much good coming out of something so bad - awareness to say the least. Our spirit soars...( though abandoned by most friends, etc.- as you mentioned in the post above.)...

Our website documents all the inspiration & encouragement we keeping finding in everyone....

and.... I love your blog & your logical spirit! LOGOS !

Thanks for commenting, Sonshine--I am sorry your husband had such a devastating accident.

I look forward to reading more of your blog and hope to be blogging more again myself.

Hi Frida,
Thanks for visiting our blog... and on follow-up (our daughter) Merry Lynn wrote on your comment - that should you be in Tampa contact her through the blog to try out the chair sometime. Feedback is great!

We are new to blogging - trying to do the blog together - and trying to figure out more in communication, etc.

Thanks again!
